After graduating from the Oberlin Conservatory, Yale School of Music, and Yale Divinity School, American organist Jonathan Dimmock became the first American ever to hold the prestigious position of Organ Scholar of Westminster Abbey. His teachers and mentors have included Dame Gillian Weir, Simon Preston, Jean Langlais, Harald Vogel, William Porter, Thomas Murray, and Gerre Hancock. After his studies, Mr. Dimmock went on to serve three American cathedrals, St. John the Divine in New York City, St. Mark’s in Minneapolis, and Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. He now resides in California, serving as Organist of St. Ignatius Church (San Francisco), Interim Director of the Grace Cathedral Camerata, and Organist for the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
