Duruflé Requiem Op. 9

The Cathedral Choir will present Duruflé’s Requiem in honor of the Feast of All Souls. The work will be sung in the context of a liturgy celebrated by Bishop Frederick F. Campbell. Dr. Richard K. Fitzgerald, conductor; Miss Nicole Simental, organist.

Lessons and Carols

The Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Brass mark the season with their annual presentation of Lessons and Carols, including works by Langlais, Verdi, and Mathias as well as familiar carols sung by all.

Admission is a suggested donation of $10 at the door.

Office of Tenebrae

The Cathedral Schola’s annual performance of music for Tenebrae, including Thomas Tallis’ Lamentations of Jeremiah, has become one of the Cathedral’s most popular events. The evening is marked by the gradual extinction of candles, culminating in the performance of Gregorio Allegri’s Miserere in a completely darkened Cathedral.

Lessons and Carols at the Cathedral

The Cathedral Choir and soloists from the ensemble will join forces with the Cathedral Brass for a program of works for Advent and Christmas. Featuring a selection of pieces by Tavener, Palestrina, Rheinberger, and more, this year’s concert has something for all lovers of great sacred music. The audience will also have the opportunity to sing the great carols of the season with orchestra and organs.
